past

City Girl Farm is known originally as RoundHouse Farm, a moniker given for RoundHouse itself--a home built by master builder Braxton Dixon, modeled after another home he built for country music legend Johnny Cash.

RoundHouse Farm enjoyed long use as a B&B with a stocked lake for competition fishing.

In 2007, Wendy Hagan purchased the iconic Pewee Valley landmark and began renovations. The result was a moody but cozy interior inspired by European style that respected and drew attention to the ecclectic architectural elements selected by Braxton Hicks at the time of its building.

present

Now called City Girl Farm, a reference to Wendy's former coffee shop in Louisville, this 16-acre farm tucked away in charming Pewee Valley is a blank slate ready for change.

Our current beloved inhabitants include our pair of goats, flock of chickens, and apiary of busy beehives.

At the front of the property you'll find lines of plowed beds, ready for a cut flower garden.

Near the chickens and goats you'll see our produce garden, awaiting tilling in the spring.

And central to the property is our lake, stocked with fish and often visited by herons, geese, and ducks.

future

Our vision for the future of City Girl Farm is that it becomes a community hub where our neighbors can find educational opportunities, take workshops, and enjoy a quiet moment on the farm.

We invite you to join us on this journey and rediscover the magic of nature.
